buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Three tracks that need to be listened. Three tracks “buzzzing”. Hand-picked by Last Day Deaf for you…

Artist: Vigliensoni

Track: ‘Am I Tempest?’

Genre: electronic, synthwave

The Montreal based musician & producer Vigliensoni (aka Gabriel Vigliensoni) sounds more than skillful (based on his extensive studies in sound recording, music production, new musical interfaces, and music information retrieval) in combining analogue modular and MIDI-based digital synths, drum machines, and sequencers to create unique and addictive soundscapes. Especially, ‘Am I Tempest?‘ is an ideal example of what Vigliensoni can do, a “circular” melodic line based on a solid rhythm, and spacey atmosphere. It’s so addictive, it could just go on and on forever.

Artist: Cold Violets

Track: ‘Don’t Let Me Lose You’

Genre: post-punk, synth-pop

How about a band from U.S.A. who sound like they never escaped the 80’s era, but for a good reason! Yes, they have an ace name, Cold Violets, and their track ‘Don’t Let Me Lose You‘ is a mellow, new wave/post-punk/synth-pop gem that will take you back to the “glorious” 80’s days, but via a modern prism. They describe themselves as ‘an intersection between the infectious rhythms of 1980s post-punk, the earnest, poetic lyricism of 1950s American folk music, and the uninhibited freedom of present-day indie rock.’ For us, is sublime, catchy synth-based song, so “don’t let it lose it“…

The track is taken off their recently released ‘The Silhouette‘ EP.

Artist: Vonavi

Track: ‘Sunburst’ ft. Run Rivers

Genre: trip hop

Vonavi is Ukraine’s Andrei Ivanov’s music vehicle and ‘Sunburst‘ is a captivating audiovisual experience, especially for fans of trip hop music, and electronica in general. Run Rivers‘ vocals lift off this sublime track, and we may say is that Vonavi sound both fresh & mature at the same time. More than promising stuff!
