Excellent stuff!

Track: ‘Human Race’

One of Last Day Deaf’s most beloved artists are for sure 90s lo-fi rock legends Pavement. And Life Stuff‘s ‘Human Race‘ contains their twisted lo-fi rock spirit, with a more punk-y attitude, and is also playful enough, and accompanied by a lovely visualizer. Abrasive!

Calgary based musician Clea Anaïs‘ debut single ‘Stars Still Dying‘ is a syrupy indie pop track with fairy-like vocals and dream pop elements, and is the finest result of her previous experience in bands like RALEIGH, and recording with  Woodpigeon, 100 Mile House, Reuben and the Dark, and Astral Swans. Beauty!

Artist: Sarah Johnsone

Track: ‘Don’t Wanna Be Your Girl’

Rising north-east artist Sarah Johnsone is back with her 2nd single, ‘Don’t Wanna Be Your Girl’, an explosive indie rock treat with powerhouse vocals, a killer driving bass line, and and as she explains: “I’ve found that my lyrics always tend towards the sombre side, so for this single I wanted to juxtapose it with energetic riffs and guitar solos. It’s the first recording I made with my band, which gave me way more scope and depth musically. The song is about falling for someone who you know is no good, but it isn’t a downcast tune at all.”

Fans of Wolf Alice & Wet Leg should invest! Female-led brit rock at its very best!

Artist: Tom A. Smith

Track: ‘Boltcutters’

Tom A. Smith‘s ‘Boltcutters‘ proves that this 17 y.o. lad from Sunderland, U.K., is an incredibly mature singer-songwriter, but for this young age, and the immense power of his song-writing lies on this stunning vocal performance, which is emotional but always balanced, and the melodies are direct, raw and straight from the heart. Raw emotion at its best!
