80’s Scottish indie guitar pop finest The Jasmine Minks, the first band signed to Alan McGee’s seminal Creation Records, are going to release a brand new single ‘Ten Thousand Tears’ on 7”, CD & download via their own Oatcake Records.
An outstanding emotional country-tinged ballad, written by guitarist Wattie Duncan with drummer Tom Reid on vocals duty that, along the b-side ‘I Can’t Hide’, will be available on April 8th from Bandcamp, iTunes and Amazon, while all proceeds go to Scottish Motor Neurone Disease charity.
The band states: ‘This song is for family loved ones now gone but never forgotten, and particularly for Wattie’s brother and band friend (former Scottish international cyclist Phil Duncan) who is currently fighting Motor Neurone Disease (MND). All monies (and we mean every penny) will go to Scottish MND’.
In the meantime the group, after a five-year hiatus, have arranged a series of gigs with fellow former Creation band The Jazz Butcher Quartet to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their classic ‘Another Age’ album.
Their first comfirmed dates are Preston’s The Continental April 8, London’s The Lexington April 15, Glasgow’s Broadcast October 20 and Aberdeen’s Krakatoa October 21. More will soon be announced.
Instead to waste your money in fake governative ONG, don’t miss out the opportunity to help a real heartfelt cause.
