What inspired you to first start making music? And how did you come to be in your current incarnation? Or if you prefer, a brief bio about you.

BEATASTIC started as an idea to try something different, a bit like LCD Soundsystem. It changed rapidly into a more shoegaze/post-punk sound.

Provide us with some info about your latest release…

The last one came out in December 2017, it was a double album, 20 tracks, the idea was to do something ambitious like Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness , showing that ambition doesn’t mean budget. I recorded everything myself.

Which ones would you consider your main influences both music-wise & non-music-wise?

The Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Death Cab For Cutie, The Cure.

In what way does your sound differ from the rest genre-related artists/bands and why should we listen to your music? In other words, how would you describe your sound?

It’s shoegaze, but shoegaze doesn’t tend to have big drums, I do, it’s very rhythmic and the bass is very prominent. It’s probably quite post-punk in that sense. I guess my idea is to take the idea of The Smashing Pumpkins around Machina, what was then described as the stadium shoegaze sound. Take shoegaze but open it up , make it big. In my tracks the guitars just decorate, the bass is the heart.

Please name your 3 desert islands albums, movies & books…

Siamese Dream- The Smashing Pumpkins/ Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind/ the Mötley Crüe biography.

Do you prefer studio or performing live and why?

Studio, I prefer creating, I can be a whole orchestra just by myself.

Is there any funny-unique story you would like to share with us, always in relation to your music ‘career’?

Which track of your own would you point out as the most unique and why?

I think my fave is The Ebb And Flow. The chorus is huge, I love how the song sounds, the backwards guitars, the bass line, the drums, I can even listen to the vocals without cringeing 😉

Would you like to share with our readers your future plans?

Idk, part of me thinks Beatastic is over, part of me thinks I have some good tracks ready, I guess I’m looking for a new sound which I haven’t quite found yet.

Free question!!! (Ask yourself a question) you wish to answer and haven’t been given the opportunity…

What do you think you’re worth on the scale of things? Who would you compare yourself to?

I think I’m pretty good, I know I’m different at least. Maybe some band like Placebo, they sound like themselves.
