The 5-piece indie rock band from Eastern Iowa, Halfloves, recently dropped their infectious indie garage rock anthem, Just Wanna Sleep, evoking memories of 90s underdogs Tripping Daisy and their explosive sound with catchy pop hooks. Inspired by the raucously joyful performances and raw simplicity of that pioneering decade, Halfloves’ guitarist and songwriter, Polk, turned to his guitar and pen as therapeutic tools. The result is an ironically heartfelt and relatable confession encapsulated in the refrain, “I just wanna sleep“.
