What inspired you to first start making music? And how did you come to be in your current incarnation? Or if you prefer, a brief bio about you.

I grew up singing and dancing. Eventually, I found choir and musical theater throughout my schooling years. After graduating high school, I began pursuing comedy, but still hung out with a lot of musicians. One thing led to another and before I knew it, I was singing in friend’s bands more than I was doing any comedy, so I shifted my focus. That’s around the time the mowgli’s started.

Provide us with some info about your latest release…

‘Wasting Time’ is a song about that feeling one has when they’re wondering when and how they’re gonna take control of their own life. I know we’ve all been there. Sometimes, it feels like life is just happening to you, without your consent.. like time is just passing you by, outside of a window you’re trapped behind. We’ve all felt that way, hopefully the song allows anyone else who may be feeling that way feel less alone.

Which ones would you consider your main influences both music-wise & non-music-wise?

This band has been heavily influenced by The Beatles, and I guess for me, personally, I’m inspired by those who use their platforms to activate people and fight for causes they believe in (Shirley Manson, neil young, Bob Dylan, Nina Simone … there are a ton of great ones)

In what way does your sound differ from the rest genre-related artists/bands and why should we listen to your music? In other words, how would you describe your sound?

We are a pop alternative band trying to write honest songs. If they’re honest and from the heart, that’ll make them unique, and if they’re unique to us, who are each unique individuals, then the songs should organically differ from whatever else is out there. Every single person is special and unique. There is no one else in the world who looks, acts, thinks, writes, sings like us, or like you! All we have to do to remain different is to not try to be like anyone else.

Please name your 3 desert islands albums, movies & books…

Paul Simon – Graceland (album)

Patti Smith – Just Kids (book)

Bye bye Birdie (movie)

Do you prefer studio or performing live and why?

Personally, I prefer performing live because I live for the energy of the audience. It brings me to life. I am truly the best version of myself when I am on stage.

Is there any funny-unique story you would like to share with us, always in relation to your music ‘career’?

We work in music. Our entire career is a funny joke.

Which track of your own would you point out as the most unique and why?

I think San Francisco will always stand out. There is essentially no structure to that song. It is really organic and raw.. it was the first song we put out and I don’t know if we can ever capture what made that song special again, in the same way, but we can capture new feelings in new ways.. and we will keep trying to do that

Would you like to share with our readers your future plans?

We just want to keep putting out music and touring. We have been having a lot of fun making music videos too.. Maybe one day we’ll even make some money off of all this!

Free question!!! (Ask yourself a question) you wish to answer and haven’t been given the opportunity…

Who are you voting for in 2020, and why?

Bernie Sanders.. because healthcare shouldn’t just be for those who can afford it, because housing is a human right, because I’m sick of endless wars, and because climate change is real. ✌️❤️
