What inspired you to first start making music? And how did you come to be in your current incarnation? Or if you prefer, a brief bio about you.

Music has been an obsession since we were kids so we wanted to have a go at it… really, just the need to express ourselves and create something ours.

We started Ghostland in 2014 but the three of us were in another band, we got along and liked playing together so we decided to make something new

Provide us with some info about your latest release…

Well, our latest release is our only release until now, our debut LP “Dances on Walls”. It was released in December 2018 on the french indie label Manic Depression Records.

We’re in the process of recording a second LP, it should be out sometime next year.

Which ones would you consider your main influences both music-wise & non-music-wise?

The initial 78-82 post-punk wave has definitely been an influence… non-music-wise? Pretty much anything.

In what way does your sound differ from the rest genre-related artists/bands and why should we listen to your music? In other words, how would you describe your sound?

We don’t really consider ourselves part of a genre, we play how we feel like playing. Sometimes our songs have a more melodic approach which sometimes can be worth listening to.

Please name your 3 desert islands albums, movies & books…

We’ll narrow it down to one each: Jim Jarmusch’s Dead Man, the Cure’s Pornography and Norman Spinrad’s Agent of Chaos.

Do you prefer studio or performing live and why?

The studio can be great if you have time to try things out but we’d say we prefer playing live… the volume, the nerves, seeing people react to your sound.

Is there any funny-unique story you would like to share with us, always in relation to your music ‘career’?

On our first rehearsal we drove 10 kilometers in a snow blizzard, on motorbikes, to get to the studio. On our second rehearsal, same studio, it was pouring down with rain.
You could say we got off to a good start.

Which track of your own would you point out as the most unique and why?

From those we’ve released already we’d say Don’t Wait, it just has its own feel… and the bass line is on a synth. Also, people like it a lot or they don’t like it at all.

Would you like to share with our readers your future plans?

Finishing the second record and more gigs. It’s been too long.

Free question!!! (Ask yourself a question) you wish to answer and haven’t been given the opportunity…
