Sandtimer

‘You Never Had Control’

Press Notes:

Crafting their arrangements with intricate, interwoven guitars and captivating vocal harmonies, composer Rob Sword and oceanography student Simon Thomas began performing as Sandtimer in 2014, building a small but passionate following on the UK acoustic circuit. Soon expanding their ensemble to include Rachel Thomas on bass and vocals and Alex Jackson on percussion, as well as embarking on tours to northern Europe and Canada, Sandtimer have found an international audience for their music in the tens of thousands.

After a steady stream of EPs and singles over a period of several years, Sandtimer released their debut full length album, everything is on hold, in 2019. Their latest single, Three Cars, is the latest song from their upcoming second album ‘Running In Sunlight’ which will be released later in 2020.

Animal Saint

‘City On A Hill’

[art-folk/progressive]

Press Notes:

John Feodorov and Paul Amiel grew up in the suburbs of Los Angeles, coming from very different cultural backgrounds but sharing the same disdain and critical eye for the pervasive dominant culture narratives. Creating and performing music together off and on since high school, their songs demonstrate a lyrical and multi-instrumental acuity honed over decades of writing and performing together.

Will Newman

‘I Didn’t Miss You in the Summer’

[indie folk]

Press Notes:

Guitarist and multi-instrumentalist from UK. Merging indie, dreampop, acoustic, pop and folk vibes into new and interesting sounds. Going Global!

Will’s main influences are John Mayer, LANY, Lauv, The 1975, Joan, Tom Misch, Iron and Wine, Minus The Bear, Jack Johnson and Turnover. Will likes to write in a range of genres including indie, dreampop, pop, acoustic, soul and shoegaze, but his fans often communicate that his tracks are ‘chilled’ and ‘good vibes’. Will has since had extensive support from renowned blogs online and featured many times in the climbing list on Hype Machine.

Will Newman is really gaining some traction now as a singer-songwriter, but more importantly as a multi-instrumentalist who takes big inspiration from his influences. Will’s debut album Sand hit #32 when it debuted in the iTunes UK singer-songwriter charts, and has had a great reception with tracks like ‘Bite My Lip’. Will is firmly marking his name as one that is hard to put into a genre, but instead one that stands exceptionally on its own with his own sound amongst his wide range of influences. Following a spate of TV and online interviews, WIll is beginning to make a name for himself amongst a number of UK artists who want to take an eclectic approach to music production, composition and releases, with a ‘DIY’ approach. Will has received international support, with regular radio plays on the other side of the globe in Melbourne, and a promising sales reception to his most recent singles across the globe.

WIDOWER

‘No Show’

[americana/indie rock]

Press Notes:

New Jersey native, Seattle staple, and off and on again New Yorker, Kevin Large has been making music under the WIDOWER moniker for over a decade. Large’s lyrically driven songwriting is reminiscent of Petty’s more mellow moments. There’s a cinematic sentiment to these songs, like a car in the rain in a Cameron Crowe film.

Shawn Butzin

‘Indigo Sky’

[americana/country/folk]

Press Notes:

Shawn Butzin is an award-winning folk songwriter based out of Traverse City, MI. After his father passed away, Shawn returned home from Colorado to Michigan. In that first year back, he spent many days hiking and foraging Northern Michigan’s trails and campsites. This is when Shawn decided to put pen to paper to help with his mourning. Shawn realized he had an entire album’s worth of material from these excursions, and this is where Butzin’s debut solo album, Northern Trails, originated.

According to the Detroit Free Press, “Butzin will be sure to captivate you immediately with his mid-range vocals, which is the sweet spot.” Winner of Nashville’s ‘Ear to the Ground’ songwriter contest, Shawn has been featured in Relix Magazine, on numerous folk, Americana blogs, and on several college radio stations. Shawn released his debut solo album titled Northern Trails in summer of 2017 and shortly thereafter followed it up with an ep titled Adventures in May of 2018. Be on the look out for Butzin’s 3rd album titled, Indigo Sky, out October 22nd, 2020. Roots journal No Depression says, “Tom Petty fans now have a new artist to love.” If you’re looking for some folk music with a blend of country, Butzin will be sure to deliver nicely.
