Pioneering alt-rock band The Jesus And Mary Chain have announced a North American tour to coincide with the release of their newest album, ‘Damage And Joy‘. Their first album in eighteen years, since 1998’s ‘Munki‘, is due out March 24th, featuring contributions from touring drummer Brian Young, ex-Lush bassist Phil King, and the producer of the album, Youth on bass.

Speaking on the album’s origins and The Chain’s reuniting, lead singer Jim Reid stated: “We started to – can you believe? – listen to each other a bit more. In the last couple of years, we’ve buried the hatchet to some degree, and thankfully not into each other. Most people who know us would say that we haven’t mellowed that much. I think it was to do with the fact, dare I say it, that wisdom comes with age. Let’s live and let live, and let’s take each other’s opinions into account.” The band previously released two tracks off of ‘Damage And Joy: ‘Amputation‘ and ‘Always Sad‘. The North American tour adds on to the band’s previously announced UK tour, starting off in St. Paul, Minnesota on May 9th. See below for all the tour dates.
