Scottish indie rockers Snow Patrol have announced ‘Wildness‘ – a 10-track LP that marks their first new album in seven years, following 2011’s ‘Fallen Empires‘ and their first release of new music since 2014’s contribution to the ‘Divergent‘ soundtrack with ‘I Won’t Let You Go‘. Frontman Gary Lightbody gave a brief description of the album via press release:  “There are many types of wildness, but I think it can be distilled into two: the wildness of the modern age, all it’s confusion, illogic and alienation and a more ancient wildness. Something primal, alive and beautiful that speaks to our true connectivity, our passion, our love, our communion with nature and each other. This is the kind of wildness the album is centered around. The loss of it. Trying to reconnect with it. To remember it.

The LP was produced by Jacknife Lee (Editors, Bloc Party, Weezer, R.E.M., Crystal Castles) and a set date of release for the first single is unknown. Members of the band have kept busy during their extended hiatus, with Lightbody collaborating with Taylor Swift, making a cameo on “Game of Thrones“, even giving a TEDx talk. Drummer Jonny Quinn has carried on with the Polar Patrol Publishing company, who has signed Belle & Sebastian among others, lead guitarist Nathan Connolly has performed with Welsh rockers Feeder, and guitarist Johnny McDaid has collaborated through songwriting for artists such as Ed Sheeran, Robbie Williams, Kodaline, and Birdy.
