  1. Alberto Alaejos – ‘Marilyn’

One of the most spine-chilling audio moments of 2019 belongs to Alberto Alaejos‘ ‘Marilyn‘ from his lates 4-track ‘Wet Dog‘ EP. The iconic Marilyn Monroe is used as a symbol for Alaejos to sing about the urban environment and it contradictions. The track is an acoustic folk ballad combined with gentle flamenco & latin finishing touches, and the Spanish singer-songwriter is offering a passionate vocal performance, and above all a unique and sincere soul testimony, ideal for a break after the ‘difficult’ daily routine. A pure sonic oasis…

  1. Tennis – ‘Runner’

The lead single off of indie-pop duo Tennis’ forthcoming fifth studio album ‘Swimmer‘, ‘Runner‘ has an eerie echo that reminds you of a film you have yet to watch, though scene after scenes are flashing through your mind. Glamorous and glitzy, sparkling like Sunday morning snow, it’s also reminiscent of Kate Bush’s elegant 80’s vocals. ‘Swimmer‘ is due out Valentine’s Day 2020, and check out your first taste with ‘Runner‘ now!

  1. Omar Souleyman – ‘Shi Tridin’

Shi Tridin‘ is the second single from the upcoming ‘Shlon‘. A bouncing almost seven minute dance banger that stays true to the Syrian dabke artist’s sound, ‘Shi Tridin‘ translates to ‘what do you wish for?’ in English and is about a lover ready to offer his beloved anything she wishes “under the sun”. I think we all can wish for more Souleyman tracks!

  1. Alvinos Zavlis – ‘Deep Roots’

Deep Roots‘ is the impressive closing track of Alvinos Zavlis‘ recently released full-length ‘Time Travels‘. The track’s sublime production is matched with Zavlis’ bold musicianship, to create an uncommon blend of experimental drum n’ bass with distinctive ethnic elements, featuring djembe and bongo rhythms. The initial 4 minutes are pretty atmospheric but then the experience takes off in a rare, endless tribal d’n’b dance. Make sure you check out this opus, along with the rest of the album. An intense & atmospheric banger!
