White Owl Red‘s Time For A Change is takend from the new album Running Blind, and as its title may suggest, is a political protest song loosely inspired by life of Chilean Chilean Folk Singer/Activist Victor Jara and his torture/murder/silencing by the forces of Dictator Augusto Pinochet after the 1973 Coup. Furthermore according to its creator, is also an allegory for the current rise of new-facist populist movements in the US and abroad and their tendency to censor and silence writers and artists.
A powerful americana/folk rock blend with a vibrant chorus, that reminded us a lot of Bod Dylan’s great protest songs. Lovely stuff!
