Neo-psychedelic one man outift form Manchester, UK, Lola, recently released the 3rd nihilistic, psych-gaze, slow-burner Islands, a sublime “amalgam of both vintage, stripped-back, psychedelic rock and more modern shoegaze sounds” in the vein of The Brian Jonestown Massacre & the Velvet Underground. According to the artist the song “deals with emotional detachment and emotional passivity to a significant other. The idea being that the ‘island’ in question is a place where you can go to bury or hide parts of oneself so you never have to consciously deal with any doubts, problems or worries you may have about them“.
