A devoted fan & competent DJ of the music since the jungle explosion of the early 1990s, Catalyst.AD, (London citizen Paul Catlow) who started releasing music in 2018, recently unveiled the Form Of Expression EP. The standout track, Guardian, pays homage to the roots with its excellent jungle treat. The energy takes a turn as two-step breaks form the track’s foundation, echoing the musical evolution from jungle to drum n’ bass in the mid-90s. Ethereal vocals, dubby vocal chops, ragga vocals, and dub sirens collide against layered breaks, pads, and jazzy sax lines, creating an introspective yet raw sonic journey that captures the essence of Catalyst.AD’s deep musical roots.
