Henry

Henry McCullough born in 1943 was a solo guitarist from Northern Ireland who played by the side of great musicians, such as Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd and Paul McCartney.

He is best known for his career with Paul McCartney’s band Wings. He also appeared in shows with Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd. As it is said, he was the only Irish who participated in Woodstock playing with The Grease Band and Joe Cocker. He also contributed to the rock opera ‘Jesus Christ Superstar‘.

He has been active until 2012 when a heart attack left him in a critical condition. Having found out about his death on June 14th 2016, Paul McCartney stated in his official site: ‘I was very sad to hear that Henry McCullough, our great Wings guitarist, passed away today. He was a pleasure to work with, a super-talented musician with a lovely sense of humor. The solo he played on ‘My Love’ was a classic that he made up on the spot in front of a live orchestra. Our deepest sympathies from my family to his.
