Le Guess Who? the festival dedicated to worldwide boundary-crossing music is scheduled for it’s 13th edition in Utrecht, Netherlands this November 7-10. While the line-up has yet to be released, they’ve shared their list of curators! Malian musician Fatoumata Diawara, Dutch fashion designer Iris van Herpen and her partner, sound artist Salvador Breed, Norwegian dark synthpop/multidisciplinary artist Jenny Hval, krautrock droppers Moon Duo, avant-garde composer Patrick Higgins, and UK electronic producer The Bug aka Kevin Martin.

Not only a Grammy-nominated musician but also an actress passionate about political activism, Fatoumata Diawara’s curated program will focus on artists related to afrocubism and afrofuturism. Van Herpen & Breed’s curation will be a musical line-up that “symbolizes their highly intertwined aesthetics”, Moon Duo’s will be reflective of they’re ever-changing genre voyage, and Jenny Hval’s reminiscent of her own genre-breaking world as well. Patrick Higgins’s curation is promised to present “his selection of like-minded and equally boundary-pushing mavericks” who will consistently use music as a tool to reflect on social issues. Beloved producer and composer The Bug’s curatorship, meanwhile, will innovatively merge “noise, metal, hip-hop, dancehall and dub”. Iris van Herpen & Salvador Breed will not actually perform at the festival but the rest of the artists listed shall, and the curated programs will properly be announced at a later date. Last year’s curators included Devendra Banhart and Moor Mother among others. News of the rest of the line-up and a list of venues (ranging from theaters to churches, galleries, warehouses, and nitty-gritty rock clubs across Utrecht) should be released within the coming months. Check out dazzling tracks from Le Guess Who? curators while you decide upon buying 4-day passes (on sale now), below.
