General Procedures – ‘Dance in Silence’

About General Procedures

Swedish multi-instrumentalist Erik Ceder has been making music and playing keyboards in various bands since his early teenage years.

General Procedures is his own project, where he creates melancholic, dreamy tracks mixing indie influences from the 80s and 90s with occasional dance beats and warm analogue synths.

After the initial instrumental and more electronic EP “Eloquent”, the music has taken a slightly different direction adding both vocals and guitars.

It’s still quite large soundscapes, flirting with dreampop and shoegaze, and the art of mixing darkness with shimmering sonic elements, creating a feeling of distant hope.

Babybird – ‘No Cameras’

About Babybird

Stephen Jones spent a lot of time in the 1980s making demo tapes of songs in his Sheffield bedsit. After landing a publishing deal, he released many of these tracks on a series of independently released albums, which caught the ears of the music press and conquered the indie charts. Then came a record deal, followed by a string of seven UK Top 40 hit singles during the 90s, when Babybird’s music was too maverick and eclectic to be pinned down and put into a convenient box labelled “Britpop”. Despite this, Jones sold over 2 million records, and was nominated for two Brit Awards. Hollywood legend Johnny Depp became such a big fan that he even paid for Babybird to record the 2010 album ‘Ex-Maniac’, as well as playing guitar on a number of songs and directing a powerful music video for the single ‘Unloveable’. As well as proving himself to be a master of accessible melodies and captivating hooks, Stephen Jones never lost his appetite for recording strange, imaginative and challenging music. It’s the sort of juxtaposition that has often been a theme in Babybird’s work.

45ACIDBABIES – ‘Walking The Cow’

About 45ACIDBABIES

45ACIDBABIES are a foul, hard, rough couple of youngsters from Utrecht. With their garage-electro-punkpop they have set numerous venues ablaze! The band guarantees a very energetic live experience. Giorgio who smacks the drums with rattles, Daniël who swipes the lowest strings of his guitar with his children’s arm, Marnix who makes entire crèches weep with his sharp guitar sounds and Sophia with her babydemon-voice.

They are young, raw, unadjusted and hard to characterize. Expect music influenced by Die Antwoord, Sleigh Bells and The Kills. Last year the band played more than 30 shows in almost every shed, bar, ballroom, foyer and recordstore the Netherlands has to offer.

Joel Ansett – ‘Cadillac’

About Joel Ansett

The idea for this song started while sitting at a red light and singing over the rhythm of my turn signal. It turned into a beat with some mumble lyrics about the strong feeling of missing something and the subtle sadness of not knowing what that thing is. My cure for this feeling is endless distraction but I’m starting to realize that’s a highly short term solution, and ultimately a way to avoid dealing with myself. To capture all those thoughts and emotions, I tried to write lyrics that were vague and specific at the exact same time.

KOJ – ‘Deep Waters’

About KOJ

Three musicians. Two brothers. One married couple. This is KOJ. Together they give life to a sound that is full of contrasts, sometimes roaring, untamed and raw, as the ocean that inspires them, other times delicate, fragile and minimalistic.
