Billy Bronsted

‘Let’s Fall in Love’ (Feat. Rachel Hanson)

[folk/twee]

Press Notes:

“A humble man from the Northwoods, Billy Bronsted has a voice that fills the room and a smile that warms the heart. His gentle kindness comes through in his soulful performances, but don’t let that sound fool you. He’s witty, funny, and loving life.” – Livin’ in the NEW

Alyssa Grace

‘Breathe’

[folk pop/acoustic]

Press Notes:

In many ways, Alyssa is just a typical 13-year old. She likes playing soccer, hanging out with her friends, skateboarding, arts & crafts and animals, however, the depth of her song-writing tells another story.

Alyssa has an innocent exuberance that conveys sincerity and authenticity. Diagnosed with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and Anxiety at a very young age, Alyssa discovered that songwriting is a cathartic way for her to address these issues. Unlike most kids (and even adults), this young lady is open about this disorder, addressing the issues in songs.

Alyssa is also kind and funny and ego-free. And yet this petite performer commands attention when she sings. She’s not caught up in fads or fashion. Alyssa Grace is completely comfortable in her own skin and that’s one of the many things that makes her so likeable. Her lyrics show a maturity beyond her years.

Peach & Quiet

‘Empty To Fill’

[folk/country]

Press Notes:

Peach & Quiet is a Victoria singer-songwriter duo known for their poetic lyrics and gorgeous harmonies. Partners in music and in life, Heather Read and Jonny Miller have a unique style that is warm and uplifting and lifts us out of our busy lives.

Sean James

‘Morningstar’

[folk/singer-songwriter/contemporary music]

Press Notes:

Brooklyn based singer, songwriter, and guitarist noted for blending chamber and baroque pop stylings with Americana and Folk.

Rusty Reid

‘American Villain’

[alt-country/political]

Press Notes:

Rusty Reid is an American independent, alternative rock singer-songwriter. Born and raised in West Texas, he came of age in the late 1960s, and still carries the spirit of that revolutionary era in his head and heart.

Rusty writes melodic, guitar-powered songs, many of which are philosophic, political and/or spiritual (not religious) in thematic content. He writes songs for the world, extolling universal virtue, defending the oppressed, and is a frequent thrower of musical fireballs at the citadel of conformity and all of its many cults.

Ben Guihan

‘Red Sun Sinking’

[americana/singer-songwriter/psych]

Press Notes:

Ben Guihan writes much like a painter, his songs are visual in nature and invite the listener into a rich, vivid scene with each lyric.

Ben currently lives in the high desert of Taos, New Mexico. He is a seasoned traveler and has toured around New England and the Southwest, and along the California coast. When he’s not at home, Ben can be found traveling the back roads of the country in an old Ford Ranger with a small wooden DIY camper on the back.

The inspirational threads that weave into Ben’s music trace through works such as the Child ballads and poetry of Rimbaud, Kerouac, and Corso, performances by artists like Neil Young and Joan Baez. Ben’s songs, being visual in nature, conjure scenes full of characters, landscapes, and symbolic images of dreams and mystic visions, intertwining traditional folk themes with surreal narratives.

Quote the Raven

‘Lonely Christmas Eve’

[holiday music/americana/folk]

Press Notes:

An impromptu trip to Nashville set the wheels in motion for the sophomore record from Americana Folk duo, Quote the Raven. The sounds filling the Nashville airways reinvigorated the Newfoundland duo’s inspiration and they found a new home in the Americana genre. Their new record titled Can’t Hold the Light is a summation of the journeys that the pair have experienced over the past two years.

Collaboration has always been at the forefront of everything Quote the Raven has done. Similar to their first record Golden Hour, Can’t Hold the Light features an A-list of collaborators including Chris Kirby, Charlie A’Court, Blake Reid, Andrew Waite, Jessica Pearson, Andrew Sneddon, Nick Earle, and so many more.

In the past two years, Quote the Raven have reached over 500,000 streams, been added to the prestigious “Folk & Friends” playlist on Spotify, and earned showcases and award nominations at the East Coast Music Awards. They’ve performed at the 2019 AmericanaFest in Nashville, been featured regularly on Stingray’s Folk Roots channel, landed on the !earshot chart across Canada, and received multiple sync placements, including the CityTV drama “The Wedding Planners”.

Music Newfoundland & Labrador’s 2019 Group of the Year have embarked on a whopping five tours of Eastern Canada, mapped out a Home Routes trek of Western Canada and performed at the legendary Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival.

Quote the Raven marry smooth vocal harmonies with an, at times, haunting aesthetic that both bewitches and allures the listener. They draw influence from the likes of Joy Williams (Civil Wars), Brandi Carlile, and The Milk Carton Kids. The pair entertain audiences with their quirky, quick wit dynamic that glimpses into the daily lives of touring musicians.

Campbell & Son

‘America (You’re Breaking My Heart)’

[folk/acoustic]

Press Notes:

There is no sweeter harmony than that between and father and son. Both accomplished musicians, Ken and Kyle Campbell bring together their talents to create an infectious noise that can only be accomplished through the unspoken bonds of family.

Achieving success in their first two years, including performances at the Cherry Blossom Festival, Kutztown Folk Festival and Musikfest in Bethlehem PA, Campbell and Son released their new EP, Vices, on November 11th, 2020. The first single, America (You’re Breaking My Heart), won the weekly at-home prize as part of the John Lennon Songwriting Competition.

Although Campbell and Son formerly came together as a band in 2018, Ken and Kyle have been making music together for over 40 years. Whether it was Ken teaching Kyle to play guitar, or sitting around a campfire with their family and singing songs, music has been the cornerstone of their relationship.

The Duke of Norfolk

‘December / Willow in the Sun’

[folktronica]

Press Notes:

The Duke of Norfolk is peripatetic folk musician and multi-instrumentalist Adam Howard. Having grown up in bluegrass territory and later studied Sound Design at the University of Edinburgh, Howard’s music nestles somewhere between traditional folk instrumentation and more modern electronic folk. More than somewhat bookish and deeply fascinated by religion & mythology, Howard’s writing tends to reflect the conflict between the fantastic / idealistic worlds of books & dreams and the reality of the ordinary.

A Choir of Ghosts

‘Skin & Bones’

[indie folk]

Press Notes:

A Choir of Ghosts’ musical foundation is: A solid ground consisting of a reminiscence of Kurt Cobain, covered with the water, the sun and the air of bands like The Tallest Man On Earth and the Hollow Coves, which give you a feeling of various shades of nostalgia.

A Choir of Ghosts has had a few singles since 2016 – “Morning Light” currently has over 1.4 million streams on Spotify, and the trend is rising – and released an EP that received international media coverage and carried him across the borders of the Swedish wilderness, among others on extensive tours through Central Europe.

With the release of his widely acclaimed debut album “An Ounce of Gold” in April of this year, the Swede by choice was once again able to secure euphoric international press praise. After a spring European tour that was canceled due to Covid-19, “Skin & Bones” is the first musical sign of life from A Choir of Ghosts.
