Jim and Sam
‘Like Children Do’
[folk/acoustic]
Press Notes:
Jim and Sam have enchanted audiences with a series of fan-favorite releases, including 2017’s This Is What’s Left EP and 2018’s Yeah Whatever Young Forever EP. Along the way, they shot After So Many Days, which chronicled a year straight of them playing one show a day for a year. Emerging as a film festival phenomenon, it took home “Best Music Documentary” at Nashville Film Festival 2020, “Audience Award” at Hell’s Half Mile Film & Music Festival 2019, “Special Jury Award” at DeadCenter FF 2020, and was an “Official Selection” at over 30 film festivals including Michael Moore’s Traverse City FF 2019.
Los Angeles duo Jim and Sam have announced their full-length album, Good On The Other Side, will be released May 5, 2023.
Lucas Fournier
‘b-side’
[indie folk]
Press Notes:
Only 20 years old with a world of ambition, Lucas Fournier has one goal: to spend his life making music that excites him, pushes boundaries, and connects with like-minded music lovers. With a soft spot for the classic lush indie folk aesthetic of Novo Amor and early Bon Iver, but perhaps an equal influence from the genre-bending discographies of Radiohead and David Bowie, Fournier refuses to confine himself to a genre. Starting in 2020, Fournier taught himself how to record and produce, and soon after released his debut album, “Many Waters”, in December 2021. He followed it in November 2022 with “Who Are We”, a collection of five songs spanning everything from orchestral indie folk to indie rock, receiving acclaim from publications such as Indie Music Center, McGill Tribune, and York Calling. Fournier’s first single of 2023 is called “all i know”, an ethereal, romantic, yet heartbreaking singer-songwriter ballad. This is the first track from a collection of songs he will be releasing throughout 2023, in a style that is both more adventurous and cohesive than ever before. Fournier describes this new album as a marriage of the styles of Adrianne Lenker and Perfume Genius: a combination of heartfelt, abstract, emotive lyricism and unique sonic choices that create a cavernous sense of atmosphere and intrigue.
Travis Shallow
‘Hard Time With The Truth’
[indie folk/americana/singer-songwriter]
Press Notes:
Take one listen to North Carolina native, Travis Shallow’s work and it is no wonder that he has amassed fans from his opening spots with legendary Gregg Allman, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, The Marcus King Band, Jerry Joseph, Todd Snider, and fellow native North Carolina band, American Aquarium.
Travis Shallow is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and recording artist. He has a soulful Americana voice that may remind you of Kris Kristofferson with the occasional Chris Stapleton surprise. “He writes lyrics that seem to uplift you while simultaneously punching you in the gut (in the best way), and to be entirely saturated in sincere confessions and hopeful assurances.” (Music Mecca)
Roos Meijer & Residentie Orkest The Hague
‘Brother’
[chamber folk/singer-songwriter]
Press Notes:
The sincerity of Roos Meijer’s alt-folk finds a way to the heart of even the most casual listener as she lends her voice to extraordinary but unheard people from around the world. Drawing inspiration from a diversity of genres, including folk, classical, indie-rock, and Arabic music, Roos bridges many rivers of the musical landscape and leads you to new pastures. With an understated but profound sense of detail, in both song and arrangement, her music finds and navigates emotional fine lines that are seldom expressed in popular music.
Mike Leon
‘Bright Side’
[alt country/americana]
Press Notes:
Mike Leon is a Singer/Songwriter from Hamilton, ON. As long-time drummer/collaborator with his brother Mattie Leon, he has toured across Canada opening for some of the country’s best (Rose Cousins, Elliot Brood, Wild Rivers). He is now stepping out from behind the kit to share his own perspective. Recorded in Hamilton, his debut EP ‘Ticket Home’ features six songs of foot stomping Indie/Folk and is slated for a Fall 2023 release on Castlemore Records.
Alex Krawczyk
‘Rhythm of the Road’
[country/americana]
Press Notes:
I am an artist from Toronto, Canada, and have been writing for several years, after the traumatic loss of loved ones in my family to violence. I hope to bring healing, peace and hope to others who are struggling with my writing and music.
Dylan Gitalis
‘Frosted Windows’
[indie folk/singer-songwriter]
Press Notes:
You might find Dylan Gitalis with blood on his hands, from reaching inside to hold his beating heart. He creates raw and moving pieces, pulling from the clutches of his ribs. He works with his mushy heart to make films and music that aim for the honest and authentic.
Based in Montreal, his music draws from spoken word to tell stories about our inner children. His films flirt with reality, using improvisation and blending the line between life and fiction.
Blackfoot Daisy
‘Nowhere, Oklahoma’
[americana/acoustic]
Press Notes:
Blackfoot daisies are hearty wild flowers that grow on the prairies of Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. You can find them growing naturally in the Texas Blackland prairie, which runs from the Red River to the Texas-Oklahoma border. The band is a humble trio (sometimes duo) that plays original, Americana style music. Songwriters, Don Sechelski and Wendy DuMond, joined forces to create Blackfoot Daisy in 2012. Multi-Instrumentalist, Jim Kirkland, joined in 2018. Based in the Atlanta metro area, we are a little haunted by the prairie, the wind, the shifting of tall grasses, the sound of crickets, and a lonesome train whistle drifting through the night.
Wyatt Edmondson
‘It’ll Be Okay’
[country/singer-songwriter]
Press Notes:
With soaring melodies in his songwriting and harmonica playing alike, Wyatt Edmondson demands listeners’ attention with his expertly-crafted songs and high-energy stage presence. The Montgomery, Alabama-native moved to Nashville in 2017 and has shown no signs of slowing down.
Edmondson has a wide array of live performances under his belt. Having performed at festivals like 30A Songwriters Festival, Opelika Songwriters Festival, Mississippi Songwriters Festival, and venues like The Bluebird Cafe, The Basement East, and 3rd and Lindsley, Edmondson continues to perform live for his rapidly growing fanbase. During lockdown mandates throughout the country, he began writing the songs that would become his first full-length album entitled Made For The Road releasing in 2023. “Dead End Town” is the first single from the project and salutes the small town dreamer who is longing for something bigger and better.
Despite being diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, Edmondson doesn’t let his degenerative eye condition slow him down. “I remember so clearly being 15 and finding out I was losing my vision. But something in me was like, ‘This is your chance to use what’s been brewing and stirring up inside you to help prove that people can do anything they want to in spite of the cards they’re dealt.’ For me, that was music. It’s really been the thing that gets me up in the morning. It keeps me going, and I’m really thankful for that. I hope it can inspire others as well.”
Clutch Stingray
‘Side Eyed’ (Feat. Geoff Kinde)
[psych folk]
