Janet Weiss, Carrie Brownstein and Corin Tucker of Sleater-Kinney in New York.

You, the reader, are obviously a Sleater-Kinney fan, and who can blame you? There’s much to be fond of – take ‘Dig Me Out‘ in it’s entirety for instance. Are you a St. Vincent fan as well? If so (and even if not) you’re going to be in luck when Sleater-Kinney’s ninth studio album produced by songstress Annie Clark aka St. Vincent is released this fall. Entitled ‘The Center Won’t Hold‘, the LP’s first tease comes in the form of ‘Hurry Home‘. The lyric video for the single can be found down below and is directed by and also stars Miranda July, perhaps best known for her 2005 film “Me and You and Everyone We Know” among other performance art pieces.

Speaking on the new single, guitarist/vocalist Corin Tucker stated: “‘The Center Won’t Hold’ drops you into the world of catastrophe that touches on the election,” -the most recent U.S. presidential one, that is-, “We’re not taking it easy on the audience. That song is meant to be really heavy and dark. And almost like a mission statement, at the end of that song, it’s like we’re finding our way out of that space by becoming a rock band.” Intrigued? You can find them on tour this fall starting on October 9th in Spokane, Washington, stopping in Milwaukee, Chicago, Nashville, and L.A.’s Hollywood Palladium prior to their last stop at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle.
