According to Rolling  Stone, legendary drummer & lyricist of Canadian progressive rock band Rush, Neil Peart died on January 7 in Santa Monica, California after a long battle with brain cancer, at the age of 67. Having drown his inspiration from drummers like Keith Moon and John Bonham, Peart managed to upgrade his technical skillfulness by adding jazz and swing components in his drumming play style. He was also Rush’s main lyricist and was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 1983, among numerous other awards & honors, until retiring from the band in 2015.
