  1. Total Control – ‘Luxury Vacuum

The post-punk band Total Control recently shared a music video for their song ‘Luxury Vacuum‘ off of 2017’s ‘Laughing At The System‘. The track itself has a summery sort of emptiness, that one might feel while stuck on a highway in traffic under the beating gaze of a July sun right before the annoyance of your situation sets in. It’s Total Control at their trademarked best.

  1. Wand – ‘Pure Romance

Pure Romance‘ is a great psychedelic, garage tune from the Los Angeles, California based  quintet Wand. The new track is the second officially shared track, after ‘The Gift‘ from ‘Perfume‘ EP, available via Drag City on 25th of May. For one more time like putting some kind of magic, they recorded 30 minutes of  new music full of spring sound odors and sonic contrasts. Always strong on indie rock with many “metal” influences but with further sonic expands, by integrating even electronic elements of noise and psych rock.

  1. Ocean Hope – ‘My Baby’

Ocean Hope are a Greek sister n’ brother duo, Angeliki and Serafim Tsotsonis, and they are about to release their debut album ‘Rolling Days‘ (May 25) via Hush Hush Records. After sublime track ‘Devotion‘, ‘My Baby‘ is the 2nd hors d’oeuvre, an electronic, shoegaze-y hymn for the summer to come. After 2015’s ‘Chamber Dreams‘ EP, the duo sounds capable to achieve the optimum. What’s this? Music for the mind, soul and ultimately the body. On repeat!

  1. Alien Weaponry – ‘Kai Tangata‘

Alien Weaponry is a three-piece teenage metal band which combines old school thrash metal with hardcore. They come from New Zealand and they use the Maori language in their songs. The lyrics are sociopolitical and the performance remarkable. In this video ‘Kai Tangata‘ from the band’s forthcoming album ‘‘ on June 1st via Napalm Records, one can see the reference of two worlds co-existing.

  1. Childish Gambino – ‘This Is America

This one simply couldn’t be left out from this week’s Songs Of The Week. Yup, a few days ago, we spread the word about Childish Gambino‘s latest awesome video. No need to repeat myself, this is one of 2018’s best tracks, and probably the best video already!. After all…’This Is America‘…This is our world…The world of fear, we let them (politicians) create…The question is for how much longer?
