Newcastle’s psychedelic punks, TV Death, unleash their highly anticipated EP, The God, The One and The Devil, introducing the EP’s centerpiece, Dr Bloodmoney, along with its gripping music video. This track encapsulates the chaos of the looming nuclear threat, with fuzzy, swaying guitar tones and feedback crafting a visceral sense of destructiveness. Drawing inspiration from Philip K. Dick’s fictional tale of the nuclear bomb’s creator, Dr Bloodmoney narrates from the perspective of a megalomaniac leader wielding the threat of nuclear destruction, creating a sonic landscape that mirrors the intensity of the narrative.

What began as a fictional story inspired by the character, seemed to become a more and more relevant topic. As global tensions rise and a daily nuclear threat becomes the norm, this idea of such destruction in the hands of a few world leaders to determine the fate of many is the idea behind the song. As the character in the song blares out his ego, possessed with power during the verses, demanding the world to bend to his knees or else he’ll call in the bomb, his threats come into fruition during the choruses – Oh Doctor, bathe me in blood. The fast punky riff had been floating around for a while but just needed the right lyrics to match the mayhem.” – TV Deat
