Louisville, Kentucky trio The Histrionics recently gifted us with their bombastic single Twist, their first official release, after their 2021 full-length Static. Quinton Byrd, Rylan Lamb, and Phoenix Hardy don’t seem to care about any kind of trends or hype, since their art is raw as a sharp razor, and borrows elements from the 80s horror punk like The Misfits and Danzig, the post-hardcore influence by the legendary band Slint, and the in-your-face, DIY punk attitude of Touch and Go Records. The song is produced by Anne Gauthier, and if you are ready for a “punch in the stomach” you may proceed. Grandiose!
