During the midst of a global pandemic, street grease, a British music project, was born out of a cramped room that was hardly bigger than a prison cell. The co-conspirators behind the project, Maud Neesam (JCQ, Torrid Horror) and Caine Hemmingway (Torrid Horror), got together and collaborated on a collection of intense, post-traumatic songs. The group’s latest release, Fawn, is a two-part magnum opus that features a first half with explosive industrial metal sounds that make Ministry appear as mild as Justin Bieber. The second half of the song is a sludge-like, perverse, and extremely claustrophobic sonic experience that also incorporates doom metal influences.

This one is a bipolar masterpiece that pushes the boundaries of extreme music, meant for only a few brave ones to explore…
