SpaceAcre‘s (Phoebe Little and Jas Scott) latest EP That Girl includes the standout track Say, which delves into the emotional aftermath of losing a dear friend suddenly and unexpectedly. The song features a stunning vocal performance, accompanied by heartfelt melodies and subtle indietronica touches. Accompanying the song is a beautifully choreographed video, adding another layer of depth to the emotional narrative. The video stars Jas’s identical twin sister, Sarai Scott Neale, a professional dancer, alongside her dance partner David Wallis. This visual accompaniment enhances the song’s message and provides a captivating and meaningful experience for the audience. Say is a poignant reflection on loss, artfully conveyed through both music and dance.

The band explains, “The song was triggered by a dream that Jas had, a few years after losing her best friend, Jamie. She saw his face in great detail like he was standing there right in front of her. That meeting felt like a gift from her subconscious. Our memories retain the essence of who someone was and what they mean to us, while the details can ebb away. The song, like grief, is a yearning to reach that person or somehow be able to follow them.”
