Soft Set’s new single, Gone, introduces a refreshing evolution in their sound, shifting from their usual introspective and moody tones to a more uplifting and hopeful vibe. The track, from their upcoming EP Gone (out November 15), features dreamy layers of instrumentation and reflective lyrics. Nathan Athay notes the surprise of how the song lightened during the creative process, thanks to added harmonies. The music video, nearly thwarted by a no-show, came together thanks to a last-minute rescue by a local stranger.
Gone marks a promising new direction, blending shoegaze and brit-pop influences with emotional growth.
