Recently released, the eyebrow-raising first single leave my bum alone captures Sleap-e’s frivolity like lightning in a bottle. With runaway guitars and her vocals cresting and dipping as if on a rollercoaster, it arrives as an explosion of energy. Explaining the title, Sleap’e shares, “It means, ‘Please, God, let me be happy. It was a prayer to myself to keep going, continue to be happy and have fun.”
Taken from their forthcoming album 8106, set to release on March 22 via Bronson Recordings, the single embodies Sleap-e’s playful spirit. In the accompanying music video, Sleap-e wears a knitted hat with devil horns, adding a rough-around-the-edges translation of her gift for mischief and, above all else, fun. Directed by Alessandro Furio & Sleap-e, the video adds another layer of whimsy to the now trio’s unique artistic expression.
