Shramm, the German jazz project spearheaded by Jörg Wähner, known as the drummer of the 2020 Grammy-nominated Apparat, unveils their brilliance in Abend, the captivating opening piece from their debut album, Androide Scrip. Produced under the guidance of live recording virtuoso Moses Schneider (notable for his work with Beatsteaks, Tocotronic, Fehlfarben), this album showcases a lineup that resembles a classic piano-jazz trio, featuring piano, drums, and bass. However, the power it unleashes goes beyond the expected, thanks to the minimalistic compositions and Moses Schneider’s atypical, direct sound aesthetic.

Abend is a “fluid-ish”, free-form nu jazz delight, featuring remarkable piano, a killer upright bass, a hypnotic rhythm section, and a band performing at the peak of their prowess.
