Seoul’s Sailor Honeymoon unleashes another sonic storm with Bad Apple, a rebellious anthem challenging the pristine pop landscape of their homeland. Following the explosive debut Cockroach, the trio’s punk prowess, championed by BBC 6 Music, echoes influences from The Ramones, Kim Gordon, to Bikini Kill. The upcoming self-titled debut EP, recorded live in London by producer Luke Smith and mixed by Claudius Mittendorfer, promises eight tracks of unfiltered rebellion. Sailor Honeymoon, a collaboration born from photographer Abi Raymaker and techno DJ Zaeeun Shin, captures the essence of noisy, improvised rock, defying the polished norms of South Korea’s commercialized pop industry.
Of the track, Raymaker says “Bad Apple is about realizing one of your friends is kind of a closeted bigot… thinking back on revealing little comments that make you realize you don’t share values. Not just for yourself but also for the sake of your other friends (who they were always judging) you make the decision to move on from them as a friend.”
