Rooster is an American southern rock/americana band, with Jeff Knorr (guitar and vocals), Jim Keddy (guitar and vocals), Jack Love (bass), Lee Johnson (harmonica and percussion), and Stephen Norris (drums) on board and Wake Up Call their recently released debut full-length. The opening track, The Devil’s Alright, flawlessly blends vintage southern rock with americana elements, evoking a sensation of embarking on a “no destination” journey. This captivating piece finds its inspiration in the band member’s personal encounter with their son’s imprisonment, and the constraints surrounding visitation and communication make family members feel as if they too are serving time alongside their incarcerated loved ones, be it sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, moms, or dads.
