Get City Lights playing on that device of yours immediately and close those eyes. Let the guitar wash over you. The 4-minute track, from Irish eclectic rockers Pork Pie, is a solid psych-influenced garage rock piece, easy to get lost within. Surely epic and entrancing live. Meditative but coming down heavy, with Blue Öyster Cult-esque lyrics loosely based upon the myth of Prometheus, and a vocal intro that is reminiscent of Killing Joke’s Eighties, City Lights is a hell of a tune! Nitty and gritty, exactly how rock should be, City Lights is an example of how modern psych bands can sound fresh while having all the standard components of classic tracks from the 60s and early 70s.

You’ll be scouring for more energetic Pork Pie tunes, which you can find in the form of 2021’s Pterodactyl LP to take the edge off while we all impatiently await their fourth album.
