Peter Beatty‘s latest single, Tell Me Where To Go, a creation of the independent artist and musician, delivers a joyous tribute to adventure, self-exploration, and the pursuit of love. Raised amidst the scenic landscapes of England’s South West, influenced by the aura of Glastonbury, this song was sparked by a memorable boat trip from years gone by. It dives deep into the theme of ‘the journey,’ emphasizing its transformative impact on our lives and inner selves. As we navigate the world for guidance and direction, this track evokes a sense of wanderlust and introspection. Accompanied by a mesmerizing stop-motion animation music video, it portrays the story of an astronomer chasing a captivating light in the sky, embarking on an extraordinary voyage that transcends time and space. This indie folk treasure not only won the Best Song award at the Cannes World Film Awards but also resonates profoundly with listeners, touching their hearts and minds.
“This is a song about a boat trip, that has become an animation depicting a fantasy boat trip, whilst all being made on a boat, so it’s a bit boat meta. Ultimately though, I was trying to create an immersive sense of joy with both the song and the video” says Peter.
“We had a lot of fun recording Tell Me Where To Go with all the layered harmonies and backing vocals. Likewise, making the video was a really joyful process. My hope is that this joy comes across and with both the song and video, as soon as people finish the journey they will want to do it again.”
