Outerloop, a post punk/rock band formed in 2019, is led by powerhouse vocalist Taisha Estrada and guitarist Don Potter. Renowned for their high-energy live performances and angular songwriting, the band has toured regionally, released both an EP and an LP, and received acclaim with their song Just Behave, which won the 2023 Wammie (Washington D.C. area music award) for ‘best hard rock/punk song’. Their latest single, huracán, addresses the issue of displacement, particularly the widespread occurrences seen on the island of Puerto Rico. The song sheds light on the 30-day notices given to people, forcing them to vacate properties for developers’ access to beachfront land.
