Mildfire, a composer collective with roots in Oslo and Berlin, recently unveiled their 4-track EP, How To Be An Astronaut, each part contributing equally to the immersive experience. The EP opens with How To Be An Astronaut (Part I), an astonishing instrumental treat that seamlessly blends post rock, ambient, and neoclassical elements. The track was born in a cabin in the Norwegian woods amidst horses and sheep during the initial lockdown phase. The surrounding nature, including a nearby chapel converted into a small studio, served as the backdrop for this musical creation. The result is a lyrical and evocative piece reminiscent of a more emotive and lyrical version of Godspeed You Black Emperor.
