Horses emerges as the second single from Laura Carbone‘s highly anticipated 13-song double-album, The Cycle. With Laura and her band’s lead guitarist Mark Eric Lewis at the helm of production, the track exudes a mesmerizing blend of dreamy alternative rock. Laura’s vocals are nothing short of exceptional, evoking a fusion reminiscent of Sade’s sensuality and Elizabeth Fraser’s ethereal allure, all enveloped in her unique sonic identity. The song, mixed by Collin Dupuis and mastered by Philipp Welsing, showcases Carbone’s artistry at its finest, promising a musical journey that transcends genres and captures the essence of her distinct style.

The inspiration for ‘Horses’ came to me when I was driving through the Santa Monica Mountains in April 2019 and was deeply moved by the majestic nature surrounding me. It filled me with great humility to witness the incredible strength with which nature reclaimed its existence after the devastating wildfires in the fall of 2018.

The song reflects the passion and courage required to stand up for oneself, to embrace something with full force, just like the radiant power and passion of summer or, indeed, horses running freely in their freedom.” Laura Carbone
