Jonsjooel, the Berlin-based Finnish artist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist, has unveiled his debut solo album, Lullabies for Younger Self, via Kieku Records. This introspective LP delves into themes of family, memory, grief, and self-care, drawing inspiration from Jonsjooel’s late grandmother.

The album’s third single, Piano, is a haunting and predominantly instrumental masterpiece, offering a transportative experience through its emotive sonic landscape. Fragile vocals accompany the music, leaving a lingering presence akin to a phantom. It’s a mournful lament, akin to Nils Frahm’s most sorrowful piano elegies, combined with soul-stirring vocals. Piano is a melancholic, potent, and experimental journey through emotion.
