18 year old, London-based based artist John Phillip, recently released his second single for 2023, the intimate adult contemporary/contemporary r&b ballad Running ’round. Phillip’s heartfelt vocal performance is genunely matched with the luscious piano chords, while the ageless melodic line and the affectinate lyrics create a unique, spine-chilling emotion reminiscent to the most vulnerable moments of 70s era Elton John & Prince. According to the artist, the song was inspired by Frank Ocean, despite this is an exceptional 70s throwback sereade.
