Joe Rian’s Amarillo rolls in with a dusty Southwestern feel, driven by twangy guitars, a relaxed country groove and a weathered vocal that sounds perfectly at home on the open road. There is a loose blues rock character running through the track, with the Hammond organ adding a warm vintage glow to the arrangement while the rhythm keeps everything moving at an easy pace. Built around a road trip story filled with reckless choices and desert scenery, the song has a cinematic quality without losing its rough, lived in charm.
