In the beginning, Highland Kites was the personal sanctuary of Marissa Lamar, a native of the City of Angels. A sonic haven birthed from her journey of conquering the relentless grip of neurologic Lyme Disease, a battle that tore away much of her past. Zooming in on 2023, and after 4 EPs, a full length album and a few singles, done 6 tours and over 100 showsthe story morphs. Now a Nashville-based squad, they’re primed to drop an EP that’s been brewing. But hold on, before that avalanche hits, they’ve unfurled their latest gem, Bombs. This creation, a response to our world’s political tapestry, aims to spark transformation. Enveloped in a cloak of beguiling melancholy, the eerie vocals weave with a melody that transcends time.
