Listening to the unholy black metal opus, Agony’s Child, from the solo act Fragmentary Solid Abyss, the first name that springs to mind is Thorns and their magnificent debut through Moonfog Productions. The angular guitar work is colossal, the rhythm section abstract and bombarding at times, and the murky soundscapes are buried under an experimental, sludgy flavor. Born in the Bronx, New York, Doğramacı, the core of this project, does not follow the norm. Accessibility is cast aside in favor of sheer brutality, pushing the limits of unholy black metal.
This track is an auditory assault, a testament to the raw, unrelenting force of the genre.
