Fez Boys‘ 6:00 is a Moroccan musical voyage recorded in the heart of Fes. Set in a friend’s house within the medina, the ambiance was ingeniously modified using a mattress and padding as sound diffusers. Armed with a 2023 MacBook Pro, Sony C100, and Apollo Twin Duo, this sonic adventure came to life. The Fez Boys trio, Apla, Chaka, and Princeliy, spit verses predominantly in Darija, an Arabic dialect. Princeliy adds a French flair to his rap, creating a bilingual sonic feast. With Yeats engineer Skelli Skel at the mixing helm and beats by Prod. The Cat, this track is a cross-cultural, polyglot delight.
