Erik Lankin of Montreal unveils Feathers and Wax, the second classical composition from his highly anticipated debut album, The Icarus Album. Inspired by the myth of Daedalus, Lankin reinterprets the tale to grapple with the loss of his father to suicide. Feathers and Wax narrates the invention of wings, the fateful liftoff, and the tragic fall. With rich piano melodies, guiding strings, and tormented sound design, the piece seamlessly transitions into Daedalus Requiem, his previously released single.

Lankin’s fusion of classical orchestration and contemporary sound design creates emotionally resonant soundscapes that navigate grief, torment, and ultimately, hope and healing.
