Emmrose, the indie enchantress, has just unfurled her latest indie pop gem Electric Nights. Teaming up with Brooklyn’s own indie pop virtuoso Richard Orofino, this track is an 80s-inspired ‘rejected at the prom‘ marvel. Picture Cigarettes After Sex and Sharon Van Etten having an ethereal musical rendezvous. It’s catchy and nostalgic, reminiscent of the bygone era, yet so charmingly relevant. With cinematic allure, Electric Nights is a radiant ode to heartache, weaving a tale that tugs at the strings of nostalgia and affection. Prepare to be enamored by this captivating masterpiece.

My own idea for a 1980’s era John Hughes movie inspired the lyrics of the song. A guy has a huge crush on a cheerleader (who was dating the football captain, of course) and he asks her to go to prom with him, and, surprise-surprise; she says no. I wrote the lyrics as if we were watching a slow dance where you didn’t have anyone to dance with, and you were rejected by the person you liked.” (Emmrose)
