English alt rocker Drew Davies released You’re the Only One last week, the fourth single from his upcoming sophomore studio LP Holloway Nights. The atmospheric single is an enchantingly bleak americana serenade to a special lover (the only lover), radiating Bruce Springsteen’s temperament with Heroes era David Bowie structure and swirly etherealness. The track would be wonderfully suited to dancing around a bonfire with a loved one – keep this one in mind for the summer months, those of you in the northern hemisphere, and those of you in the southern hemisphere: what are you waiting for? Get swaying!
Davies also released a music video to accompany You’re the Only One, shot near Dungeness, a beach town on the south east coast of England. The video’s vibe is Springsteen as well, very isolating, reminiscent of the fact the alluded to lover is the only one. Singular. Unprecedented.
