Based in Vancouver, Laura Lee Schultz’s solo project, Down the Lees, evolved into a vibrant live band, exploring post rock, slowcore, and no wave genres. With an international presence established during their time in Belgium, collaborating with Steve Albini on the acclaimed Bury The Sun album, the project returned to Canada amid the pandemic. Now a trio with Andy Ashley on drums and Chris Carlson on bass, both from the Okanagan Valley, Down the Lees is gearing up for the release of a new EP titled DIRT, produced by Jesse Gander (Brutus, Japandroids). Their first single, Douse, presents a perfect blend of noise, indie, and heavy rock, reflecting the challenges faced by artists and exploring themes of mental health and resilience.

This one ignites the soul with its sonic flames, a testament to resilience in the face of adversity.
