Barcelona-based Irish composer, producer, and bassist David Duffy explores the connection between psychedelics and creativity on his debut album as a bandleader, Where The Branches Begin. The album draws inspiration from his experiences with supervised psychedelic therapy, which served as the foundation for much of the music. Pulse is the first single from the album, inspired by a Psilocybin therapy session where Duffy vividly recalls a three-hour vibrating pulse. The David Duffy Quartet brings together a group of musicians on the fringes of jazz, including Catalan pianist Marc Martin, Swedish saxophonist Emil Nerstrand, and Irish drummer Davie Ryan, creating a unique and immersive musical journey.
