Have you heard Waves, the new single from indie crooner Alex Wilkerson? Well, it’s probably his most personal and introspective song yet, which says a lot considering how vulnerable his music already is. This is the second single from his upcoming album, Everything Underneath. The song starts with a hauntingly beautiful, gradual, low, and penetrative melodic line, to gradually build up to a powerful crescendo after the 2-minute mark, reminiscent of the early Flaming Lips. Then, just when you think you’ve got it figured out, it dives into an ethereal space after the 3-minute mark and takes you on another emotional ride.
