Chloé Morgan – ‘Stars’

About Chloé Morgan

Humans have always had a complex and esoteric relationship with the cosmos and Vancouver DJ/singer-songwriter, Chloé Morgan, has a new single meant to “amplify” that relationship.

“Stars” is a shimmering, bumping EDM-meets-disco track about understanding that there is a Creator of the universe. We’ve worshipped before the stars and still do today as God, Lord, and the Creator. Not to mention that scientists have proven that the human body is made up of elements that literally come from interstellar stardust.

“Stars” begins with Chloé’s powerful voice singing acapella about the higher power that makes the “planets and the universe align,” and quickly morphs into and grooving and funky bass dance track. It’s a track that is perfect for those searching for meaning and substance in EDM or those who just want to get down on the dance floor. Either way, it’s going to command the club scene.

Candid – ‘Wasted Time’

About Candid

As usual, Candid’s Latimer reaches straight out to us with a line we can all get behind. How long has it been anyway?! Too long. But fear not! Come September 10th things will be much better because the boys are set to release their latest and greatest track ‘Wasted Time’. Having worked once more with Rich Turvey, this is set to be a real headshrinker.

Having undergone a recent and unforeseen transformation from monochrome to multicoloured brilliance across all platforms (seemingly applauded by fans and peers alike) this tune is certain to add a splash of colour to whichever playlists it finds itself in. The tune is quite a change in pace from their last masterpiece ‘Through All The Fighting’. Whilst it was no doubt a beautiful and insightful tune, both lyrically and melodically, ‘Wasted Time’ provides much more of an instant ‘pop’.

Accompanied by what seems to be a humorous yet impressive music video, ‘Wasted Time’ has a catchy and instantaneously memorable chorus. Though, as usual, Latimer is providing us all with a healthy dose of skilful lyricism. Even the chorus itself boasts some lofty prose. “I don’t wanna fight, I can’t sit and waste any more time” seems to be screaming out that the band really mean business now, especially after the last two years of lockdowns and misery. This tune looks set to be consolation for all of that.
