T.O.L.D. – ‘Long Long Summer (As The World Burns I Play My Guitar)’

About T.O.L.D.

T.O.L.D., also known as The Order of Life and Death or Daniel James Smith. His music has been featured in the New York Times, Dazed & Confused, and recently used for a worldwide Michael Kors campaign starring Bella Hadid. Smith got his start in the London underground — where he experimented with different facets of pop music and self-released his own material — and moved to Los Angeles in 2014, where he began work on T.O.L.D. His first release, the Heaven EP, was produced by Birgir Þórarinsson (GusGus) and included the tropical-tinged “Lucifer’s Eyes,” which merged Bastille’s breathless indie rock with Kygo’s steel drums. That song would appear on Smith’s meditative debut LP, It’s Not About the Witches (IAMSOUND), which was produced by Tom Biller (Kanye West, Eels, Karen O) and mixed by Peter Katis (Interpol, Kurt Vile). Jas Shaw from Simian Mobile Disco was also enlisted on “Return Forever.” Released in June 2016, Witches incorporated Depeche Mode-styled new wave/goth synths, and gospel-backed ’90s house similar to Moby’s Play with a beating hip-hop heart. T.O.L.D. was announced as one of BBC’s ‘Introducing Artists’ of 2019.

Peter Serrado – ‘Vanity Fool’

About Peter Serrado

Born in Toronto, ON, Peter Serrado gravitated to music at an early age, discovering a deep love of retro soul and funk, European crooners, Americana roots and R&B. His passion grew with time and put him on a path to becoming a writer and performer. As a songsmith, his songs are powerful yet intimate and reflect an artist wise beyond his years. Peterʼs unique voice is drenched in a sweet raspy tone, from a subtle whisper to a scream. His expression is powerful yet intimate, wise yet playful, and evokes the scope of artists such as Ray Lamontagne, Joe Cocker and John Mayer. The pairing of a gravelly voice and a sage soul has led to Peterʼs music touchingly reflecting both light and shade.

Now, embracing the many styles of music that came before him, Peter distills genres, reckoning what has led him here, with a sense of what is yet to be. Live performances have grounded him, affording opportunities to connect on a more intimate level with ever growing crowds that gravitate to his music, style, and of course, his look, which is a factor not lost on those who have seen him perform.
